The 38th Annual Taste of Louisville

Monday just got a little more swanky thanks to the Kentucky Restaurant Association!

Tomorrow grab your feather headbands and fringe dresses to chase away those Monday blues with a tasty charity event.  Tickets start at $55 and include restaurant/cocktail sampling from 35 stellar restaurants and beverage companies, including the Brown Hotel, Seviche, the Oakroom, and Grey Goose Vodka to name a few.  Even ice cream treats from Blue Bell Creamery. YUM!
The 2011 Taste of Louisville will be held on Monday October 17 at the Mellwood Arts Center 6p-9p. The Mellwood Arts Center will be the perfect artistic backdrop for the “Speakeasy” theme this year. For the very first time the artwork has been created by a local artist, Jeffrey (JD) Dotson (co-owner of Regalo Gifts). The Speakeasy theme is focusing on the Roaring 20’s, with flappers, gangsters and jazz music galore. Everyone attending/presenting will be asked to dress along with the theme. Be on the lookout for our “Speakeasy Taste Team” around town leading up to the event.
I think I’m going with a simple black cocktail dress with a turquoise and silver pop of feather accessories custom made by stylist Lindsay Cogan.

Don't get caught in a flapper faux pas. Get yourself a custom creation for $25.

I’m also pretty excited to dance to a 20s style jazz band (The Jerry Tolson Band) and the addition of the Back Alley Beer garden to try seasonal craft beers from local breweries.   But a roaring 20s Speakeasy wouldn’t be complete without a secret element located offsite at a a downtown bar.  Look for my feather headband- but you didn’t hear it from me!

Tell Jonny 3-fingers you got it from Nicki Minaj.
